- Students should read at home everyday for 5 minutes.
- Students should take book baggies home and return them to school everyday.
- Students should complete homework packets every week.
- Students should bring Homework (Green) folders everyday.
- Students should bring healthy (low sugar/ low calories) snacks everyday.
Here is a look at our daily learning!
Currently Students are working on sounding like readers (using words such as: One day, Suddenly, then, and then, in the end, etc.) and exploring story books. Each day students read independently for seven minutes to build reading stamina. Students also take part in literacy center, where they read independently, work with a teacher, or listen to story books.
In writing, students are creating stories about topics they know a lot about. Students can write about going to the park, going shopping with their grown ups or things they do in school. Students are learning how to draw representational drawings. They are also labeling themselves and objects that they draw in their story using the beginning and end letter sounds of the words.
In math, Students are learning how to count from number 1 to 10. They are learning how to count using a number path, writing the numbers as they count within an object and various other ways. They are also learning how to write the numbers 1 to 10.
Social Studies is a chance for students to learn about what makes them special and explore their community. They created books showing how they are unique. They have created classroom rules and understand the importance of following classroom rules. They even learned to follow the rules by always remember to make Bluebird the Rule bird proud.
Choice and Craft Time
Craft and choice time is a chance for students to explore their creativity and play after a long week of learning. But through play, they are learning to share, maintain a respectful voice volume, and how to be responsible classmates by helping each other clean up.
