Word Study: 

Children are reviewing the sounds of vowels, consonants and digraphs. You can use these sound charts and videos to practice with your child at home. 

Glued Sounds:

Children have been learning about glued sounds. Glued sounds have letters that stick together. 

R-Controlled Vowels:

Children have been learning about r-controlled vowels. The letter r is being bossy and is controlling or changing the sound of the vowel.

Reading:

We have been learning about strategies that will help children read tricky words. If children do not know a word while reading they can sound out the word and look for parts that they know.

Writing:

We will continue informational writing. Children will write All About Books on their favorite animals! You can talk with your child and have them rehearse facts they know about an animal. You can ask:
- What does the animal look like?
- Where does the animal live?
- What does the animal eat?
- What does the animal like to do?
